Jewelry designer to the stars lauded by Vogue and DeBeers, dreamer of luxury environments, Emmy-winning set decorator, humanitarian

Behind every captivating design lies a compelling narrative, a truth that resonates with our lives. This is especially evident in the spaces we inhabit and the adornments we cherish. For me, the art of storytelling through jewelry design, set decoration, and interior design has been an unwavering passion, and I believe it’s time to unveil my own personal story.

My fascination with the natural world ignited from a young age, as I found myself enchanted by everything from stalagmites to delicate swallowtail butterflies. While others might shy away from encounters with snakes or spiders, I found myself drawn closer, captivated by their intricacies. This profound connection with nature propelled me to pursue my artistic journey, leading me to Syracuse University where I delved into the realms of art history and interior architecture. Subsequently, at Parsons School of Design, I immersed myself in environmental design, seeking to create spaces that harmonized with the world around us. My quest for knowledge took me to the picturesque city of Florence, Italy, where I honed my skills in metalsmithing and jewelry design, while independently exploring zoology, geology, and entomology.

Armed with a fine arts degree, I embarked on a new chapter in Los Angeles, where I delved into the world of film and television as a set decorator. Among the many projects, I found immense fulfillment in enhancing the sets for the acclaimed primetime series CSI. This journey introduced me to a myriad of exceptionally talented individuals, and my efforts were recognized with several prestigious Emmy awards.

Parallel to my work in the entertainment industry, I unleashed my creative vision into a line of entomologically-inspired jewelry, titled “A Collection of Living Jewels.” This distinctive collection resonated with stylists and celebrities known for their daring and distinctive fashion choices. Soon, the J.Herwitt brand gained widespread recognition, gracing the pages of renowned magazines like Vogue and garnering the attention of esteemed companies such as De Beers, who showcased my eternity bands in their esteemed “What’s New in Diamonds” profile.

Amidst the flow of life, my passion for the natural world, precious gemstones, and remarkable design has endured and flourished. Recently, I achieved a graduate degree and gemologist certification from the prestigious Gemology Institute of America, opening new horizons for my creative journey. As I stand at the threshold of “Jennifer Herwitt: Part Two,” I eagerly anticipate the next chapter in my ever-evolving narrative, fueled by the enduring love for artistry and the wonders of the world around us.
